Instigated by Pope Pius XI in 1925, so that individuals should honour and recognise Jesus as their Sovereign King and emulate his total gift of self, perfectly embodied on the Cross. This day marks the end of the Church's liturgical year. This day is also celebrated as Youth Day, and to support the work of the Diocesan Youth Service, there will be a second collection taken at all Masses this weekend. |
