St Mark’s with Holy Family and St Mary Magdalen Parishes are utilising ChurchSuite, a computerised management system specifically designed to support churches in the various administrative and record keeping functions that are necessary to ensure an efficient organisation. In our modern world, communicating with people and keeping them informed of plans, events and announcements is increasingly important, but without modern tools and channels this is increasingly difficult to achieve. The old days of announcing things in the parish newsletter is very slow, restrictive and outdated and web sites and social media tend to rely on people looking for information rather than having it automatically delivered to them. Churchsuite offers the capability of providing this proactivity in communicating, as well as providing a central repository for things like duty rotas, events, calendars etc.
One key aspect of Churchsuite is to compile and hold contact information for parishioners in a fully GDPR compliant database. This then allows the parish priest and authorised persons within the parish to be able to contact people as required for the purposes of parish administration whilst ensuring that the personal information provided by parishioners remains confidential.
The records kept in Churchsuite supersede the information previously held in various paper based parish records, and in order to ensure the efficiency of these records, it is important that all parishioners register their details to ensure they can be contacted as and when required.
